Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and One Silly App, LLC (“we”, “us”), the maker of Leftoff. They cover the Leftoff app (the @leftoff/cli package, its daemon and board), the website at leftoff.dev, and the hosted relay at yourname.leftoff.dev (together, “Leftoff”). By installing Leftoff, claiming a name or signing up, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Leftoff. Our Privacy Policy explains what data we keep.

Your license to the app

Leftoff is free to use and its code is proprietary. We give you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use it on your own computers. You agree not to:

• reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it, or make derivative works of it
• copy, sell, redistribute or host it for others
• remove our copyright or other notices

Leftoff works alongside Claude Code. Your use of Claude Code, and of any model or service you connect, is under that provider's own terms.

Beta, as is

Leftoff, and especially the hosted relay, is in beta. It's provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose. It may have bugs, lose data or go down. Keep backups of anything that matters.

Your name on leftoff.dev

A name you claim or register is yours to use, not to own. One name per email, for now. Some names are reserved, like ones that describe the service or could be confused with it. We may take a name back if it's used for abuse or impersonation, if it was claimed just to hold or resell it, or if it sits unused for a long time. Where we can, we'll tell you first.

Using the relay fairly

Don't use Leftoff or the relay to:

• store or send anything illegal
• harm others, or pretend to be someone else
• overload, probe or break the relay, or get around its limits
• run it as a general-purpose proxy, file host or service for others

Price

Local Leftoff is free. The hosted relay is a free beta today. It may become a paid plan later. If it does, we'll announce the price before anything is charged, and you'll choose whether to pay. We'll never charge you without your say-so.

Changes to Leftoff

We may change, pause or end any part of Leftoff, including the relay. When we can, we'll give notice first, so you have time to move or export what you need. The app on your Mac keeps working locally.

Ending things

You can stop using Leftoff anytime. To close your relay account or release your name, email hello@leftoff.dev. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or put the service or others at risk. The sections on licensing, warranties, liability and governing law still apply after that.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, One Silly App, LLC isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or work, arising from your use of Leftoff or your inability to use it, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the past 12 months or $50.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Illinois.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above, and for big changes we'll let account holders know by email. If you keep using Leftoff after a change, you accept the new terms.
